The Community Project

Trees are being cut down for a major water main project. But we're turning some of that wood into musical instruments. Local luthiers will be creating beautiful instruments from the wood, and local musicians will play them. We're passionate about preserving the beauty of the forest and bringing joy to our community through music.

The pictures below are sample of what we hope to be able to create from this project.

Meet the Project Lead

Larry Parks is the Team Leader for the project.  After having heard that the trees along this corridor were being removed to accommodate the water pipeline project, and during a walk in the park, he was inspired to contact the City of Coquitlam to see if any of the wood could be re-purposed into musical instruments as a community project.
